Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is going cheap again: free games on Xbox and PC
If you have an Xbox or gaming PC – and especially if you have both – then Game Pass Ultimate is a no brainer. Essentially it brings you a library of over 300 games to download and play for a reasonably-priced subscription. If you haven’t subscribed before, then you’re best off heading to the Microsoft site where you can currently get three months for £1 , but that deal is only open to new subscribers. I’m not one of them, and if you’re not either, then Amazon has the next best thing. Right now, Amazon is selling three month passes for £15.99, making it just £5.33 per month . Given it usually costs £10.99 per month, that’s a solid saving, and you can buy as many cards as you want, up to a maximum of 36 months, so fill your boots. To be honest, Microsoft hasn’t done a great job of advertising Game Pass Ultimate, because it’s really very good value indeed. For the cost of admission, you not only get Xbox Live Gold (which allows multiplayer and two free games per month) but access to a growing collection of software, comprising of 244 Xbox titles and 163 PC games at the time of writing. And although there’s doubtless some filler in there, there’s no shortage of quality titles. Microsoft’s first-party games are added to the service on release day, so the likes of The Outer Worlds, the Halo Collection, Gears 5 and Sea of Thieves are all present and correct. Certain games – “Play Anywhere” titles – let you save progress between the PC and Xbox versions, and some PC games also include Xbox achievements for the gamerscore hunters out there. All in all, it’s a service that’s well worth subscribing to. I became a member for The Outer Worlds, and have just extended my membership by six months through this deal. I suggest you do the same.
